Its primary purpose is to permit the development, maintenance and operation of an efficient, co-ordinated and economical Transmission System.

The Water Transmission Code is a regulatory document that outlines the procedures, standards and requirements for the transmission of water within Abu Dhabi. Its primary purpose is to allow operation of the Water Trunk Mains System and provide controlled connection arrangements at the entry and exit points between the Water Trunk Mains System, Water Producers and Distribution Companies (DISCOs).

About Us

The role of the Sector Codes function is to manage the administrative and governance processes that support the Code Review Panel Chairmen and Standing Members to fulfil the purposes of the Code Review Panel. As such Sector Codes is an independent, neutral function whose responsibilities are distinct from EWEC’s Procurer or System Operator responsibilities and are detailed below:


Meeting Management - The Sector Codes function is responsible for managing Panel meetings and acts as a secretariat. This involves administration, managing membership lists, minute taking, setting agendas, capturing and tracking meeting actions


Process Management - Sector Codes function’s role is responsible for the impartial management of code procedures on behalf of the Panel and sharing of information in a timely manner to ensure panels members are fully informed and empowered.  


Governance Management - The Sector Codes function is responsible for ensuring documentation and templates are kept up-to-date and that governance arrangements are delivered and remain fit-for-purpose.


Sector Codes Portal Management - Sector Codes is responsible for managing the Sector Codes Portal, including Membership, documentation, access and ensuring the system is fit-for-purpose and meeting the agreed service levels.
